Udo doesn’t care who he hits. I was writing this back when Germans were treated like American natives in the movies – always the bad guys, not human, with no families, consisting only of young male soldiers or warriors.
We automatically think the enemy is capable of parthenogenisis. It’s part of the historical problem of Invisible Women: Lewis and Clark are seen as great brave explorers, but everywhere they went, women were already raising babies.
We get the same thing from troops back from war zones, who make out they were espcially brave or superior; nobody seems to think raising kids in a war zone is hard, or even visible.
