Nobody can accuse the Peach of not being self-aware. This is how I feel about the people who come whining to me when they can’t take care of their animals any more. Usually I help them deal with it, but occasionally I get one of the Stray Puppies (was that a spoiler?).
I don’t know if the character with the riding-crop comment was trying to be funny or not.
We WILL find out in issue #27, New and Different, why he has a ribbon on the riding crop — and whose fault it is. Or who allowed the Peach to take advantage of the military mindset that seems to allow anything as an order or not-an-order, depending on whether or not the commander meant it or omitted it. Oh the things I used to get away with because a Lieutenant wasn’t careful….
