The damn’ white gloves. When the Mystic Fruitcake company put on the Desert Peach play in Seattle’s Empty Space theater in November, 1992, I had to wash those white gloves every single night. And find all the little Friendly-Plastic medals the cast kept losing from their uniforms.

Hi, Melody. Which drug? We’re still trying to figure that out. Probably some form of Amphis — what the Germans called amphetamines given to combat troops. The Americans called their version “Benis.” Any of you whose fathers were truckers know what I mean: “Little white pills.” World War Two ran on drugs.
